I would counter that the largest influence on the rise of Christianity is the collapse and moral bankruptcy of the directionless Roman empire. Christianity provided structure and the bible was mostly completely fabricated to appeal to people's needs at the time and to attract as many followers as possible

We have those in Toronto, too.

I agree as well plus a rep. Many Romans especially those that lived in poverty were in complete disillusioned by message of Christianity. Christianity made the Roman Empire more pacifist and liberal and weakened both East and Western Empires. As soon as the Western Empire fell, all that left was the Roman Catholic church as an authority which probably forced many pagans to convert over time. Also the church found new allies like the German tribe called the Franks who ruled ever the Roman population what it is today known as France!

Completely nonsense and false.

Most Canadians by far are Christians, and there is no strict separation of church and state. Public crosses are allowed, and they celebrate more Christian holidays as national holidays

You have to look at Canada carefully since it is divided by French and English. The French were Catholic and the English were Protestant. The Catholic church was heavily involved in every day life and to a great extent weighed down the whole French-Canadian population. Since at least the past 50 years, most people have become completely disillusioned and gone much much more secular than anywhere in the United States. English Canada is also more secular that it was in the past and certainly much more so than the US

Have you ever been in Canada or paid attention to Canadian politics? You are going to be in for a surprise.

Of course I've been, and I saw big Christian cross in public land on top of the mountain in the city of Montreal, and crucifix hanging on the wall of some government buildings. Good Friday and Easter Monday are national holidays as well.

Buddhists don't believe in God, and it is very insulting.
I encounter them often. The say "Buddha peace" and try to hand a coin or medallion sometimes. I just say no thank you and go about my day. I get solicited by many ranging from religious folks to people wanting cash or cigarettes. Not something that I worry about. Many large cities are the same with this.
