A lot of doctors and dentists still practice preventive medicine, even though it isn't the best for their balance sheet. In general, most professionals are ethical. Even bankers. A minority aren't and those are the only ones that people tend to remember.

Not the average idiot "hey free healthcare woohoo".... nothing is free people...

Liberal docs hate it because its not liberal enough... i.e. not single payor, still involves 3rd party reimbursement/insurance compaies/ designed to fail etc.

Conservative docs hate it for obvious reasons.
Most docs tend to be conservative... almost 20 years of school/training (not to mention the debt incurred) just to become a doc tends to make people conservative, no matter how liberal you start out.

This topic was amazing at bringing up the dregs of this forum; just an all out amazing display of the sort of paranoia that's gripped this country.

We have a system in place for addressing when things don't go as planned. Obviously, the healthcare system and its projections are not working out as is. Let the reform try its hand for a while to see how things actually pan out with a timeline of metrics to consider and a plan for revisiting certain statutes of it. Stop being obstructionist idiots--there is no vast secret that somehow you've become privy to and the rest of the populace has somehow had the wool pulled over their eyes.

I wonder why congress is exempting themselves and their staff from Obamacare? All the big corporations and Unions that supported Obama also get exemptions. What a great law. This is what happens when we elect tokens to run the country.

Congress is not exempted from Obamacare. Why the circle jerk over this myth being constantly propagated? How many times does this have to circle around before you realize you're being jerked around? Or is the actual letter of the law and congressional records just much too complex to understand?

I used to work with a guy --- a real right wing freak. He INSISTED that the moment Obamacare becomes a reality, everyone will have free healthcare and people are going to be flocking to doctor's offices and hospitals to get every little thing.

We both had healthcare ---- me, through the job and paying a fortune; him through his brother's company and not paying a dime (his brother's employees were, in effect, covering him). I asked him "you have FREE healthcare. are YOU flocking to the doctor or hospital every week?" Naturally, he couldn't answer that one.

I'm interested to see how Obamacare works out. Everyone has a million things to say about it and no one knows everything about it.

If you want to get people in health care even more annoyed, bring up HCAHPS.

Think of how the whole thing was passed? Pelosi say's let's pass it and figure it out as we go. Doesn't matter what side of the political aisle your on these politicians are bozo's. Have 2 buddies who have had their hours slashed from 40 hours to 29. The best part is the congress and their staff are exempt from this horrendous bill. If it's so great why don't they use it also?
