I am sure those who feel they stand to lose have been investigating the loopholes for some time now.
Actually they will also win. The average business person in America that fears Obamacare is misinformed. They have everything to gain.

what most who oppose being forced to buy their own coverage..is that,,while ERS are required to provide emergency care...that does not mean you will get any follow up care once you exit the ER doors..

thus likely that being dx with breast cancer is not emergency..thus she likely will have a very tuf time getting decent care...

I am not saying I am a big fan of the Obamacare plan. I rather find it more of a sellout to Big Pharma (captive customers by law) rather than the "socialist program" some people biotch and moan about. But I do understand the importance of access to healthcare for people.
Exactly. I had five MRIs done, at $2200 each. I paid $50.00 for each of them because I was insured. Imagine if I had nothing?

Some people want the scams and fraud to keep going, and that's the problem with those against it.

obamacare is a good thing. However, insurance companies have a vested interest in scaring the public because they will lose lots of money. The inability to use pre-existing conditions to deny coverage alone, will cost medical insurance companies millions. Obviously they're keen on stopping it. Furthermore, medical insurance companies give politicians huge campaign contributions. The fact that most of Washington politicians hate Obama to boot, is only the icing on the cake. This is why this is happening. Racism is alive and well in our nations Capital. They are just smart about it. So long as they don't use certain hot button and/or key words, you can't prove it, but it exists.

.

Firstly, the insurance companies will NEVER lose money. Who do you think WROTE the ACA that puts the insurance companies squarely in the drivers' seat.
Insurance companies skim 25% of the entire cost of health care right off the top. They rig costs so that they CANNNOT lose money.

Secondly, Obmacare was a feeble ATTEMPT at a good thing. A GOOD thing would have been rolling the entire population into Medicare, a popular program that has proven itself for nearly half a century.

As written the new law is a mish-mosh of a first attempt that will be patched around the edges for years. What finally comes out of all this is anyone's guess. But right now that's ALL that it is... a guess.

But as long as it remains insurance company run it will never be much of a "GOOD THING." Perhaps the BEST outcome would be for all the insurance companies to agree to QUIT the system and have the government take it over...but we all now there is too much money in it for them, so all they'll do is whine all the way to the bank..

Under ObamaCare, he will be able to get "normal" coverage for probably around $200, $400 less than what he was paying before for the same coverage. Sorry, but I see no downside to this as far as we are concerned.

And I totally agree that if you opt out and decide to just to pay the fine, then you get nothing if something happens. You want to gamble, fine but I'm not paying for it when you lose.
You sure about that $200 a month bill? I don't think so......

And if the ER visitor has a bank account, a job, a credit rating, all will be put in jeopardy by that so-called "free" visit to the ER.
Someone with a horrifically low income and no assets can get Obamacare at nearly no cost.'

The only failing of Obamacare is leaving medicine in the hands of the insurance companies who skim 25% of all the costs off the top and send it to their stockholders. A better system would have been universal single payer coverage, i.e., covering every citizen from cradle to grave under MEDICARE which already has tight constraints on cost built in.

Those who screetch about the evils of a government making decisions on health care should ask themselves if they prefer United Health Care or Aetna, companies whose main objective is PROFIT, making those decisions.

I remember it being sold as "free" healthcare for all. That free stuff is not cheap.
