Agree 1000%

This entire medical system is one huge scam and until the everyday person demands that the govt break up the price monopoly it will eventually send everyone but the wealthy down the economic drain. The anti-trust laws must be enforced

So then do you support universal single payer control of health care WITH price controls?

Or something else?

I tried reading through this thread, but the amount of sheer, unabashed lies about Obama and the Affordable Care Act is comparable to watching anything on Faux News.

Here is a reality check:

Low-income people with no insurance are NOT doing fine without insurance! How does someone even claim offering low-income people the chance to get insurance is bad is mind boggling!

If an employer is cutting hours just below the thresh hold so that they don't have to pay for health insurance for employees, then that is a problem with the EMPLOYER and the company's ethics, NOT the Affordable Care Act. You do realize that if there was a law that said you do not have to pay employees the minimum wage if they work less than 30 hours, we would ALL be working 29 hours for 30 cents an hour. This isn't a problem with the law, it is a problem with the companies!!!!!!!

If you believe the current medical system where the uninsured wait until they are very sick with oftentimes preventable issues and clog the emergency room, and then NOT PAY (Bankruptcy), as in the tax payers foot the bill, is a better system, you would love India! Or if you believe that the existing system is great, so long as you are perfectly healthy and do not have a pre-existing condition, then I am sure you also believe working is great so long as you don't need the money and I don't have to pay you!

PS- For those who hate the government telling you what to do, and taking your money for something you don't want or need, please be sure not to accept that social security check and medicare /medicaid insurance come 65 years old...that is an equally unAmerican socialized insurance and you can't have that! No sir! FREEDOM! The Freedom to die in the street from a fever, the freedom to be homeless because of bankruptcy from medical bills, the freedom to walk into a hospital and not pay so that everyone else can pay it for you. Now THAT is what America is all about!

You may not know that from each working American's pay check there is sth called social security tax withheld by the fed gov, in addition to what their employers have to pay, to fund US SS system to support senior citizens and it is a government promise that they will continue to do so for the working ppl of today after they reach their retirement age. It is not any free government give away for average working americans, albeit those who did not work long enough to earn it, so it is not a sensible argument you imposed here.

Obamacare delay would send rates soaring

"Under the Affordable Care Act, insurers must provide coverage to everyone -- even the sickest people -- which would greatly increase insurers' risk and cost. To offset this, lawmakers included the mandate to prompt younger, healthier people who don't use a lot of medical care to sign up.
But if the mandate were delayed by a year, many of those lower-cost folks may not sign up. About 2 million fewer people would would obtain coverage in the individual market, according to the Congressional Budget Office. "

Now some ppl realize what affordable care is really about.

How 'affordable' are Obamacare plans?

Many Americans browsing the Obamacare exchanges are finding the Affordable Care Act isn't living up to its name.

It's not just premiums that are bringing up the costs. Consumers are finding high deductibles, co-payments and other expenses that make the Obamacare policies seem more like catastrophic plans than comprehensive insurance.

Those picking a bronze plan, which carry the lowest monthly rates, may have to spend $5,000 or more before the insurance kicks in. The next highest level of coverage, the silver tier, can carry $2,000 deductibles. And once they hit their deductibles, policy holders still have to pay for doctor visits, lab tests and medication.
"All we ever heard about Obamacare is that it would lower our deductibles and premiums," said Jennifer Slafter, 40 of Mabel, Minn. "That's just not what's happened."

Its time for all you people to pay your fair share.

Everyone loved Obama's class warfare when he was going after the rich to pay their "fair share".

Now all you young, healthy people who voted for this need to buy high deductible plans to help pay for the sicker people in order for Obamacare to work.

Socialism is all fine and dandy, until YOU have to end up paying for it.
Pony up and pay your fair share... you voted for it.

Obamacare will pummel the middle class.

And when the delayed employer mandate kicks it... it will be an even greater blood bath. Obama delayed it for a reason.

Why wouldn't he delay it for the people? Especially considering the mess with the website and the mess with the "you can keep your plan if you like it" promise.

Funny the Republicans were urging him to delay it for the common people too just as he did it for employers. For once the Repubs seemed to be on the side of the common people.
