Not true....MANY MANY MANY people have talent. Sadly its not about talent, skill, studying, its about meeting that one contact who can and will do something for you in your career so your name gets out there.

Yep, the biggest issue is rent. Beside that, you won't fin NYC is more expensive than any other (bigger) city in US. NYC is big, transportation can also be an issue, but you can't compare gas expenses in some small town and NYC where you have most of the city mileage.
