I'm guessing if these teens just dressed business casual, the police wouldn't have bothered them.

My thoughts, as well.

Why do these "youths" insist on showing off their underwear? I'm very fuzzy on that. It looks ridiculous, makes them look like thugs, and just sets them up as targets for the police.

Why not make your life a little easier and dress like you're NOT a thug?

Not to give you a hard time, but should we rely on the website for news, its validity, etc.?

Here's what should worry Park Slope:
Park Slope subway station one of NYC’s worst: report | New York Post
Now, is this still racist even though the police officer is black? Also, do we know what was going on before the kids started recording?

Honestly, it seems like certain parts of NYC has become the Old South.

You don't even hear of southern white cops doing or saying any of this crap.

Well that's just it. Unless you're going to work, to visit friends or family, to go to some business, etc you are not just permitted to hang out on the street.

I don't know what those kids were doing or if they lived in the neighborhood or not.

But I do know all over the city loitering isn't allowed. I know ghetto people have gotten used to it, but good neighborhoods stay good in part because in them hanging out on the streets is not allowed.

These articles are click bait. Since all newspapers post online, news publishing isn't making much money. Internet advertising still doesn't pay what news organizations are used to. So websites are now desperate to find shocking, provacative news.

Lately it's always innocent Black angel is wrong by the cops. Only at the end of the article will they put that the person had a rap sheet longer than I am tall (over 6 feet here).

Hopefully since the cops are now reluctant to engage criminals, women like her will learn the error of their ways and the fact that one can call out criminal behavior without being racist.
As noted, news media outside cable tv and radio isn't doing well. They've got to get their clicks, so they come up with the most outrageous titles and sensationalize it to the max. It's getting to the point where I often don't bother clicking on these articles anymore. Why should I contribute to this stupidity?

In order to get clicks, some writers are demonizing police and presenting criminals as perfect little black angels!
