Then you jump on the subway to Lower Manhattan (another 15-20 minutes), plus the walking on the Manhattan end, and the driving on the New Windsor end. If you time everything right, it will be right around 2 hours.

Of course, coming from that far up, you obviously need to add a little bit of cushion time. But 30 minutes should definitely be enough to ensure that lateness isn't an issue. (Aside from really bad weather, of course)
I guess I was only thinking in terms of driving...

I would commute 5 hours if my job was hanging out in the city doing whatever I wanted with a $500 per diem.

I would not. I was commuting up to four hours + at one point and it was terrible. It takes a toll on you physically but people do it everyday. I think a dream job includes the commute.

No for driving. Yes for train. Actually my current door to door commute is close to 5 hours a day.

Hell No! I would never - where's the work-lifr balance?

But if I'm getting paid a million dollars I would consider it other than that I wouldn't

My max was long ago with a half hour commute each way.

My dream job is to be a formula 1 driver so my 5 hour commute would be first class flight from grand prix to grand prix in different countries.....so yes, for my dream job, I would....

For you?, that'd be an unequivocal and resounding - NO! LOL
