Actually, most of the air pollution in New York City wafts over from the industrial corridor in northern New Jersey. Manufacturing hasn't been a major concern in the city for decades now, so aside from car emissions, we don't make a lot of pollution here.

New York doesn't seem anywhere as polluted from what I experienced living in LA..
