Don't bother, if you haven't noticed he is a long time troll here. He has been asking dumb questions for the past year and a half and then fights people on-line cause he is a tough guy and not very smart.
Any reason why my list number is in the 5000's and my date for physical is earlier than those with 3000's numbers ... I'm assuming score and last name ...
There is no set date anyone can tell you your list number will be called. There is no set time someone can give you for the waiting period in-between steps. Everything is based on the needs of the department, amount of people unqualified before you and your actual list number. So please don’t ask when anyone “thinks” you will be called..…because nobody knows.
Step 1. Take the written exam and wait for results. (February 2015)
Step 2. Physical Exam (Lifting baskets/bags in various scenarios)
Step 3. Pre-Orientation (Submit documents such as proof of residency, CDL, diploma, ect…)
Step 4. Medical (X-ray, eyesight, hearing, blood test, ekg, breathalyzer, drug test, ect…)
Step 5. Final Processing (provide additional documents, if needed, and fill out department paperwork)
Step 6. Training Academy (Wait for the phone call with a date to start training at FBF)
Estimated Hiring’s:
2016 - under the assumption of 4-500 hires per year, list numbers 1-1000.
2017 - assuming 4-500 hires. List numbers 1000-2000
2018 - assuming 4-500 hires. List number 2000-3250
2019 - assuming 4-500 hires. List numbers 3250-5000
Last number hired as of 2016 is #989.

You don't get a letter for medical, you get a date when you come in for pre-orientation, they haven't started for 2017. In 2016 people recieved pre-orientation invites during the first week of May.
My boy sent me a pic of the class dates for 2017 posted in his garage. Very similar to 2016. July, Aug and Sept.
