FBI interviewed him this morning about the corruption probe and he killed himself a short while afterward.

I guess he is guilty. Or he was coerced. Either way, this is just the surface. Keep probing FBI

There has to be more than taking a few free trips or gifts for the guy to kill himself. He wasn't even one of the cops transferred.

This reminds me of the city hall corruption scandal of the 80's. No one who is innocent kill's themselves. This guy also had a direct link to deBlasio. The Mayor has to be very concerned by what's happening around him and chances are it all leads back to him and his wife.

Down with DeBlasio and his rent freezes.

Not really one or the other.

Some persons just do not handle stress very well. Being hauled in by the FBI and grilled is the sort of thing that can send certain susceptible persons over the edge.

OTOH perhaps the guy knew or saw something that he should have reported but kept his mouth shut and minded his own business. Being called to testify against members of a group you belong to can often be one of those "dammed if you do and dammed if you don't". People don't like rats, and being "forced" to give up information by LE or whatever does not always remove the taint.

Very Cold response here. The man felt pressured and stressed and decided to take his life. He had a kid and a family. Start another post about the probe. Don't make comments like that it's insensitive. Innocent guilty, nothing at all is worth suicide. RIP

Was just watching the news (Channel 7). Apparently the guy was friends with one of the businessmen at the center of the probe. The late NYPD officer had no allegations made against him or whatever.

Mayor knew the late inspector from Park Slope and was shocked to hear the news and so forth.

Persons involved in LE often have such cold mindset. There are either the guilty or innocent, and the latter have nothing to fear and or hide by not otherwise cooperating. Those that do not, hesitate, crack under the pressure or whatever must be guilty of something......
