You are all off base. I agree with the OP. Space is sacred. And constantly having your door open creates no personal fpr either person. And if you are inteoverted like me, you need that. Plus its awkward to try to do your normal routines with someone watching. It doesn't matter if you know them well or not. My cousin is my roommate. He leaves his door open all the time and it drives me nuts. I just want to be in the living room without seeing your ass laying there with your music blaring. Privacy is important. Roommate are necessary financially for many so saying. 'Live alo e' just shows yall have zero clue.

Not just that, you move around and walk. I ate like a pig when I lived in Italy, but the food was fresh, not loaded with preservatives, so I came home back to the States slimmer than ever.

It's the access to cheap/convinient fast food in the US. I lived overseas for a year and came back in the best shape ever about 7 years ago.
In terms of volume (calorie wise) of food I ate about the same but my consumption of fast food was cut dramatically.
I don't buy the argument that "it's all about calories". The quality of calories matters a great deal.
