Lol! I live in a regular 2 bedroom apartment. No Tv and game stations though. High efficiency light bulbs. In winter months my usage is around 50 Kwh.

We have a two-bedroom and paid ~$160 last month. But my GF and I both work from home a few days a week and we have pets. So, the AC (two window units) are always on, especially in this hot as hell weather.

During the winter we average $~40.

My total bill last month was $46.19 with 125kwh. About .37 cents, which seems ridiculous. I am rarely at home and am usually at another residence.

don't forget the biggest expense is delivery . it is far more costly then the power generation part . so that makes sense .

had you had more usage it would have been cheaper .

whether you use the power generated or not the wires , feeders and substation all have to be sized to provide you with the capacity to do so when you are home so you are charged accordingly . it is like cable tv . if you only paid for what you watched they would be out of business . the few shows we all watch couldn't pay for the network and constant programming 24/7 should you decide to watch

That surprises me too MJ. Are you sure it wasn't an averaged bill?

(I am so happy to be in a building with single metering. I haven't had the air conditioner off for even 10 minutes in the last month. From previous experience I know that I am using more than 1000 Kwhr per month.)
