What do you do when people block the exits/entrances to subway cars?

As in they see you, they know they are in the way. They do not move to the side or try to make life easier?

1. Budge them out the way gently? (sometimes the crowd behind will push you into them anyway)
2. Walk as far as you can up to them, then say excuse me and hold up the line of people behind you?
3. Not board/exit the train at all

I say excuse me & then mow them down.

If I am the door blocker, I usually get off & let them get off the train. If its not crowded, I walk towards the middle of the car or the other side of the door where its not opening.

My favorite is when people are boarding the subway car rudely and not let riders off first. . I mow them all down like a linebacker.

"Excuse me" and walk through regardless if they move or not.

Same here. Though nearly everyone in my experience moves and tries to make room. If I am not in a rush I wait for another train to arrive.

My fave is on a bus where Mary Idiot wants to get off the FRONT but is sitting in the back and begins her stroll through the bus towards the front only after the doors have opened and everyone must wait for her majesty to leave.

Once I hummed "God Save the Queen" but I'm sure she missed the subtlety.

I use to think that too. I sometimes give the benefit of doubt that some riders are elderly or disabled. They have difficulty getting off the back of the bus....heavy doors and steep incline.

I once had TWO of them standing abreast in the doorway, absorbed in their electronic gizmos and oblivious to everyone. Easing past them I almost put my foot into the train/platform gap.

What a pair of turkeys. People like that deserve a good hard shove.

My policy is to say "excuse me" twice and then get to where I need to go. If I need to push past you, I have no problem doing so. You had the chance to move.
