Hey, i'm thinkin about jogging along the West Side Hwy one of these days and I wanna know where I can take a [preferably free] shower instead of taking the train back home all sweaty and nasty?

And i'd prefer a place not overrun with bums and creepy dudes looking to bareback or somethin..

Sorry but if it was free, it will probably be 'overrun with bums and creepy dudes looking to bareback or something.'

Pay $50 for a 6-month membership to a NYC rec center ($50 is the price for the ones without pools, otherwise it's $75). That way you can shower all you want for 6 whole months. Recreation Center Membership : NYC Parks

I can't imagine there is a place for a free shower and if there is, only homeless people would be using it.

If you are a current college student, you can probably use one of the CUNY campus near the Westside Highway for free. All their gyms got shower for students.

Or you can choose to have the whole Hudson River at your service for free.

There's so much wrong with this post.

-Stop being so self-conscious
-Stop running so you won't be "sweaty and nasty"
-Don't take the train to your running spot. Run to your running spot, if that makes sense?

Breathing in automobile and truck exhaust gasses from thousands of vehicles as you jog along the Hudson River Greenway is not very healthy. For a healthier jog, use the Central Park jogging paths between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM and between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM when traffic access is cut off. The HI New York City Hostel is 3 blocks away from CPW on Amsterdam Avenue and you may be able to make shower arrangements there (for a price). It's also close to the Hudson River Greenway.
