I received a ticket at Bronx 95 earlier this week, $500 and 6 points for driving at 73 when speed limit is 50. I thought the limit is 60. I have searched around for information. It seems that there is no bargain in NYC court, and the only way is to find a good lawyer who has a good relationship with the court and delays the hearing forever. Is there any good Bronx lawyer to recommend? I found many NYC lawyers with good reviews at avvo.com and don't know who to pick. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

What's the dispute? You were doing *more* than the speed limit. Pay up and move on.
It is my fault and if you don't live in NYC then I understand your reply.
Have lived in NYC my entire life and don't understand your point? Follow the speed limit and you won't have a problem. Am not sure why a lawyer is needed unless you're expecting to keep those six points despite it being your fault. Either way, $500 or a lawyer you will pay.

Even if the limit was 60 (whether you live in NYC or not is irrelevant), you were still going 13 mph over the limit so I'm not understanding your response to pierre or why you still want to dispute the ticket?

23 over the limit hence the heavy fine & points. OP is screwed
Do not admit anything!
Where you checked by radar, on the highway?
You can , of course, plead not guilty, and find a way to question how he clocked you at that speed, and if he was in the right, by the books, to check tour speed.
The police driving besides you guessing a speed is not legit.
Again, do not admit your speed ever, you will give yourself up. You were driving at a pace safety allowed, always.
Go to avvo to find an attorney.
