Rosa's in Ridgewood ( Fresh Pond Rd & Bleecker St ). Pretty much most of the pizzerias in Ridgewood & Glendale are very good, with Rosa's being my favorite.
I like New Park Pizza, also V.I Pizza on Bell Blvd in Bayside and Valentino's on Kissena
In the city, there's a place on third avenue by 36th I like Libretto's
In Brooklyn, I like Gino's by Barclays Center
Can't really speak for the Bronx or Staten Island
Actually some of the best pizza I've had is made at home. We buy the GMO free pizza crusts (Brooklyn Bred Pizza Crusts from Damascus Bakery) and put on our own toppings.
I made my own, several times all the way from flour and yeast and double rises.
Too much trouble though and I saved very little given the cost of generous cheese.

But it was always quite delicious.
My favorite is one with caramelized onions. I beg my girlfriend to cook them. Like begging for sex...
johnny's pizza
5th ave and 58/59 sunset park brooklyn.
it was the best in the 70's, still there and still the best, pizza ever.
High five to you, nightcrawler!
I opened the thread to post Johnny's! I grew up eating Johnny's Pizza and was so happy to hear that it is still there. The hilarious thing is that there is a Papa John's right next door. I don't understand how those chains make money when there is real pizza to be had everywhere. The only chain pizza that I ever had and actually thought was not bad was someone at work bought a lunch special at Little Caesars, which is an insane bargain! Four squares and a 20 ounce soda for five bucks. The person offered me two of the squares but I was only able to eat one of them and it was actually not bad. I was surprised at my reaction. I'd never pass up real pizza for it but in a pinch that lunch special is cheap.
For those who mentioned it: What is a monster slice?
Also, how much is a plain slice by you? Around here is goes anywhere from $2.75 to $3.25.
- L&B's square slices
- Barboncino Pizza, authentic Neapolitan pizza
- Difara's is good, just not worth the one hour wait or $5 a slice
- Don Anotonio, authentic Neapolitan pizza
- Grimaldi's is always a good stop when I'm hanging around the neighborhood
There's a pizza spot in Ceasars Bay shopping area in Brooklyn, exit 5 belt parkway, forgot the name, they have delicious Chicago style deep dish pizza.
