Fleetwood is an old name from the 40's or 50's i dont know the origin.

The Hub is centered around 149th, third and westchester aves. i would say that the hub continues on courtlandt ave north for a little bit, and goes up third ave north to about east 156th street.

The area was called Fleetwood since the Fleetwood Racetrack once lied at 165th/Teller area. Nowadays, that's considered Morrisania or Concourse depending on how you put it.

hey dude..Just for the record..Mott Haven goes to 152nd street, not 149st..people however are now referring to the Northern Part of Mott Haven as Mott Haven Heights, which is the area generally from 148st-152st. Concourse, and Concourse Village for that matter, are North of 152nd street, as is Melrose.

I'm confused again. So the people that live between 152nd st and 149th st & between Grand Concourse and Walton ave. would be part of Mott Haven Heights to you? I don't like the Heights part. Mott Haven sounds nicer, but Concourse Village is more hip and greener.
