The next recession we see screwed

We only have about 5 billion extra in reserves. Will only support our spending for a year.

Yes and they think they are winning. Brilliant. NYC doesn't need these freeloading jobs which arent paying their fair share of taxes, as decided by political scientist who cant add

I don’t get how that’s obvious

You can even compare the stock prices. Amazon is on another level.

Google isn’t transforming a neighborhood in need. 7k is not 25k-40k.

Second, I hope that maybe the next step will be to convey the idea that city have to stop offering billions of incentives to lure corporations.

You think wealth is bad?

Where do you think jobs and worker prosperity comes from?

At least now the city gets to keep 100% of $0.00. A noble victory for the working man.

In the end, mainly-UMC white pseudo-social-conscience clowns got a pyrrhic victory of denying a new employer that the majority (70-80% according to university poll) of actually working Hispanic & black people wanted.
Working Hispanic people would have been gentrified out of Central Queens because of Amazon, and no they were not going to be fired by Amazon to begin with in any significant role.

How much of a difference would 25k jobs make? Most of the workers would probably live in either Manhattan or LIC anyway, not Corona and Elmhurst. A lot of those luxury condos in LIC are still empty
