My friends and I would check out Strawberry after school, never was a fan but my friends would often shop there. Bolton's still around on Austin St though! Really wishing they never closed down the Barnes and Nobles around here though.

That was such a cool place......................
Strawberry's was the go to store when I needed a quick outfit for a date/club. Bolton's was for work :lol
Sad to see them go.
I too always used to check out the Strawberry stores in different locations around the city as sometimes I would find something to my liking. I never found anything I wanted at the Bolton's stores. It would have better in Bolton's had gone out of business rather than Strawberry's IMHO.
Seems to me that this forum is mostly male, so I don't know if you'd be aware of these, owned by the same corporate parent.
When I was just out of school, I used to shop a lot at Bolton's, where they had great, well-made classics like lined pants. Then their quality went down, and I drifted away, but later on sometimes found good deals among the low-end things at Strawberry, like purses and rain boots.
Well, I just talked to their offices, and the person told me very sadly that they'll probably be gone by the end of the year, likely sooner. I did notice that some places had closed, like the big location at Third and 42nd, but didn't realize they were in such bad shape. I'm guessing they're a casualty of internet shopping
I'm more shocked to learn they're still around, I thought they went out of business long ago!
I know that this is primarily a NYC based discussion, and I'm in western NY, but I'm a little surprised that nobody has mentioned the closure of Lord&Taylor. They were the last bastion of "upscale" shopping in my area, and my wife is in mourning over their recent closure.

I've certainly mentioned L&T. It's killing me!
