The US goal now is to keep the virus under control in other cities and states, unlike the mess that Cuomo and De Blasio have created in NYC. NYC has become a death trap, just study the curves!

I hate when people compare the two. Like are you serious?! Science is evidence-based versus religion that relies on blind faith.

Not all evangelicals are the same. Stop painting with a broad brush. And you don’t need to tell me about science. I am a believer in science but like I said, I also don’t dismiss the stuff science cannot and will never be able to explain.
How much of a believer are you in science though if you are willing to defend something that relies on faith as proof versus evidence-based research? "Don't dismiss the stuff science cannot and will never be able to explain." That is such a cop out. If a doctor has a medicine that went under numerous studies and the findings indicate that the medicine is not extremely harmful and can help treat Covid-19 and you have it (and you are really sick), would you rather take the medicine that was developed using science or just "pray to a higher being?"

My mom had a really bad fall (broke her hip) and had to go to ER to have hip replacement surgery. If there is a silver lining to all this, at least it happened during the first week of March before this virus really hit the fan. I don't want to imagine how the ER is nowadays.

New York City needs to still follow the example that other US cities and leaders are using to
combat Covid-19. The federal gov't has collected data that indicates New York needs to
step-up and start emulating the actions that other US cities are executing. Social distancing is a must. The state of Washington for example had leaders that took control early and proved that Caronavirus can be manage. But it takes good leadership. Unfortunately Cuomo and De Blasio got off to a late start, with bad direction.

The US in general does not have adequate testing and many states have not issued a shelter-in-place or have only done so over the last couple of days. The New York shelter-in-place order was placed a day before Washington state's. The earliest is California's. Given that, what do you think the curve is going to look like elsewhere in the US? Which state do you live in?

In other words, the"big apple" is the tail that wags the dog.
Okay, it's pretty well-established that its downstate that ends up sending more money to upstate from state revenue versus state spending. It's pretty crazy for you to say otherwise. That's not so bad though in relation to the gargantuan deficit New York state as a whole has with the feds given what it sends as federal revenue and what it gets back on federal spending. Now, that's a real kicker. Besides Western New York is great and has a storied history and should get monies.

You get the point, is it any wonder New York state is in serious trouble where thousands will die

what is your reference source that the federal government offered ventilators , 2015-2019

and that other governors bought ventilators ?

It’s not accurate to say that Trump has been "defunding" the CDC, but he has tried to make cuts in key programs. It’s just that Congress didn’t listen.

The Trump administration’s initial proposals for the budgets for emerging and zoonotic infectious diseases at CDC — a key player in the fight against coronavirus — have consistently been lower than what was spent the previous year.

The administration proposed $61.7 million less in 2018 than 2017; $96.4 million less in 2019 than in 2018; $114.4 million less in 2020 than in 2019; and $85.3 million less in 2021 than 2020.

However, Congress reshapes presidential recommendations as they see fit when they craft final spending bills.

He either lives in Baltimore, where the majority of his posts are from (prior to coming to troll the NYC board), or he lives in a Russian troll farm in Russia, set up to sow discord and make Americans even more divided than they already are.

Too late, Washington had the first Covid-19 cases and quickly pushed social distancing and closing down large group events. New York Cities mayor and governor were telling residents in NY just the opposite after cases started appearing in NY. De Blasio encouraged residents to go out on the town and permitted concerts, parades and nothing was done to control the spread, absolutely nothing. The Federal gov't model indicates NY Caronavirus cases/deaths are ramping up today while Washington state is not!

Most states are doing better than Washington by the way, due to good leadership.
All states are doing better than New York!
Go watch today's news briefing by Trumps Task Force and you will see the sad facts or graph.
