New bill introduced, earn cash for ratting out illegally parked cars. Up to $45 a car!
NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Anyone in New York City would be able to report illegally parked cars under a new bill recently introduced to the city council.
Whistleblowers would also receive part of the fine paid by violators.
Under the bill, which was introduced by Councilman Stephen Levin and Council Speaker Corey Johnson, fines for illegal parking would be increased from $115 to $175.
Additionally, the person who reports an infraction would get 25% of the money, or about $45.
Also noteworthy, cars with city-issued placards would not be exempt.
The hope is the proposed change would increase safety around bike lanes, bus lanes, sidewalks, crosswalks, and fire hydrants.
If the bill is passed into law, an online portal would be created through which anyone could file a complaint.
The next thing you know, everyone be fighting on the street for that same parking violation.
A: “yo! Leave now, I spotted first!”
B: “What you mean you spotted first?!” I already had my camera on like 100 meter away, get the f out of here!”
Poor, poor Trump. It's so sad how people have tarnished his stellar reputation.
I couldn't care less about his reputation. I care about the left and their media using Trump to mask their tyranny. Anyone who doesn't see Cuomo as having gone way, way too far is the real fascist.
The "rat em out, get money" system. Best incentive there is, and the TPTB knows it. It probably wont stop there either. They spend time coming up with thier $$ making schemes but cant keep criminals locked up now. How did it come to this?
