It's free for those without insurance but if you have insurance they may charge your insurance for it, no copayment or any other payment required by you.
Here's a fun fact for you folks. Don't worry about not getting the vaccine because those that got it right now will have to get it again next year this time around. The 2nd fun fact is that the current vaccines lose over 25% of their effectiveness against many of the new strains. So just keep the mask on and wait until next year and you'll get newer vaccine.
There will more more than 1 anti-viral covid medicine available by next year that will likely make all of these vaccines optional.
If this becomes like an annual flu shot and still doesn't prevent you from getting severely ill from new strains, I'm opting out.
The vaccine is free to everyone, at most some places charge an admin fee. And right now anyone can get it, I got my first shot and they didn't ask me to prove anything, didn't check my id, didn't even ask why i was getting it which I thought they would because i'm in my 30's. They just asked if I ever had an adverse reaction to any previous vaccines and if i was immunocompromised.
People go to centers and hang out to see if they can 'fill in' and get any vaccines that were for scheduled appointments but the patient was a 'no show'.
You need to have time on your hands to be able to attempt doing this, and if everyone shows up you will leave with nothing but maybe an appointment, but its being done.
No. Right now the vaccine is free. Providers can bill your medical insurance carrier because the facility and the doctor and the nurse and incidental things like bandaids and alcohol prep pads are not free. Some carriers will pay and others will not, but in either case it should be no charge for you as long as the provider is receiving the vaccine for free.
This probably will change in the future, when and if Pharma Companies starts charging providers for the vaccine.
i got my first dose of the moderna vaccine last week, f**k that johnson & johnson bs
