People who think Adams will be better than Bill de Blasio probably thought Kathy Hochul was more moderate than Andrew Cuomo.
lol exactly I don’t understand it though. There has been an outbreak at my job and every one that got it was vaccinated. So what is the point of these mandates?

The point of the mandates is the force the unvaccinated to get vaccinated!
They likely naively believed that vaccination would end all transmission.
Now the hope appears to be to get the death and hospitalization rate low enough that we can lump COVID alongside colds and flus; all so while making sure no one then recalls when Donald Trump said it was like the flu and having them play side-by-side soundbites.
Florida and Texas' governor may come out with the most bragging rights at the end of this pandemic.
Still- the senate flip in Georgia allowed all the states upside down on their budgets a free pass.
Disappointed but not surprised. This was a good opportunity for Adams to distance himself from his predecessor and to make a fresh start. Will Adams basically be a third term of de Blasio?
The mandates haven't done anything to protect public health. They are more of a bludgeon against political opponents, or even members of the same party, who are uncomfortable with this unprecedented level of coercion.
