Do you think it's somehow meaningful that it was a paramedic, as if they should have an exemption, more than a elementary school teacher or a violinist or a tailor or a short-order cook?
It's the same way they mention that either a victim or a criminal is a "grandmother", as if having had children who in turn had other children in any way matters to the story.
I think in this case it was to add additional sympathy to note that they were a 9/11 responder.
Get a gun. Carry that gun. Ignore everything democrats say about crime. It’s your life, they don’t care about you. They care about pandering to the underclass they can bus to voting sites that keeps them in power. Only you can defend yourself. It’s your choice.
Definitely think we will see an increase in vigilantes in the years to come.
I remember some years ago there was a guy who was being mugged on the train. They said a businessman, a suit and trenchcoat guy, non-descript generic white male. He pulled out a gun, shot the mugger, and got off the train and melted into the crowd. Bernie Goetz put out the message, "Don't turn yourself in", and I don't believe he ever did.

She was in uniform and may have been targeted because of it. I don’t know if that is a fact but someone on the radio said he was waiting for someone in a uniform. If she was in civilian clothes it would be just as tragic but her occupation wouldn’t really matter.

It’s not just that though. It’s the fact that everyone is fair game now, even those who would run to protect that perp under any other condition.
…oh and do their job perfectly or end up arrested, fired, and vilified for minor mistakes. Unlike said perp who basically has free reign in the third world city now.

Ironic that she is a security guard but couldn't defend herself.

You absolutely know that this is terrible advice for anyone who lives in NYC. You know that the scumbag NYPD would eagerly lock up any law-abiding, normal person for exercising their 2A rights, and that the DA would throw the book at said person. Then the NYPD would brag about it on social media.
