Hmmmm too bad our hands are tied to use our own oil to support good social agendas.
The closest thing to what Venezuela does with their oil money is Alaska and their state owned Alaska Permanent Fund.
Others just take a tax on it. Venezuela decided to not share the oil revenue with private companies and instead use it to fund social welfare programs. That itself is not an issue and does not make a country "socialist" or anything, otherwise Alaska would be a "socialist" state by that definition. But it's a Republican leaning state.
Anyway, back to the point, Venezuela is not socialist nor communist right now. It's just a corrupted authoritarian regime that does follow capitalism rules.
Southern states have retaliated this way before. In the 60's they sent southern African Americans to the north via Greyhound bus. Just history repeating itself.

Imagine dealing with this crap in a nice residential neighborhood? There’s a really nice park over there for young kids. Used to take mine there when they were small. I’d never subject them to wandering trash. People with young kids now can’t use it I’m sure. Desperate people are not fun to be around, especially when it wasn’t by your choice and your municipality all but ensures you have zero ability to protect you and yours.
It is their choice. They weren't invited here. In fact, they violated Federal law by showing up here. They are not wanted. Not needed. If they don't like it - GO HOME. I am so sick of people calling and walking into places saying Espinal? What makes you think I speak your language? Then the next thing is - I'm sending this back to "my Country". They choose to come here - uninvited - against the law - expect education, medical care, food, housing - all for free - and then STILL don't recognize the US and THEIR Country. It pisses me off to no end. Meanwhile Americans are being bled dry.
