What happened there was quite stirring… thanks largely to incompetent democrats-run state and federal governing…Don’t you agree that life felt much safer and peaceful under Trump? CA has successfully spread its lib-mob culture as well as wildfire cascades North America wide. The experience of orange skies in NYC due to Canadian wildfires thousand miles away was disturbing…Is NYC too close to forests to relive what Maui just went through? Maybe it’s time to cut down trees around NYC metro to mitigate the risk of life loss in this dense urban area.

with all the gas pipes underneath these streets, we wouldn't need concrete to be flammable

I mean, world trade building 7 fell from the fire next door, so I assume the domino effect would be colossal.

I am trying to choose my words carefully here, but I think the original post on this thread illustrates perfectly the correlation between education and republican/Trump support. (Note, this is not to say that everyone that votes Trump/republican is of just one background. Just that there is a correlation between education and Trump support)

The idea that the fires in Maui are somehow linked to voting Democrat, or Biden and that this particular incident wouldn’t have occurred had Trump been in office boggles the mind.Or that the Canadian fires could have been prevented if their government had been conservative. I don’t even know where to begin. It is hard to have an honest exchange of opinions or viewpoints when people have a poor grasp of reality, science or basic logic.

Eduction is not the same thing as intelligence. Your side spent the last few years telling us that cloth masks and ineffective gene therapies would stop an endemic airborne virus (a virus that totally wasn’t from a lab leak because that’s racist) so I’d maybe do some soul searching before you try to shame others.

Great response. Whole swaths of public housing votes Dem, never knew the PJ's was the place to find highly educated and intelligent people.

What a stupid post.

Whether you agree with it or not, education is correlated with intelligence.

Your point would have merit if one, republican objection to masking was based on scientific evidence rather than democratic contrarianism and two, if people on the left didn’t also object to the narrative on COVID, prevention and its origin.

As an example, the majority of the commentary on right in regards to COViD origins had nothing to do with the virus gene sequence, or the improbability that such a sequence could be natural. Instead, it focused on the fact that it originated in China/Wuhan and therefore must be a byproduct of China. That the right now wants to co-opt their position as being solely based on science is a different story.

Note, none of this is to say that most of the left didn’t bury their head in their sand on this on because that’s most certainly true. But to try paint both sides as equally illogical or irrational is a false equivalence. I won’t sit here and claim the left has no ignorant people, because it most certainly does. But difference between the two sides is staggering and makes it hard to even have a constructive dialogue.
