OP, do you know you'll pay a $15 toll to get into the city and how much it will cost you to park once you're there? I don't think you thought this through.
Seriously. I won't even drive into the city anymore. Park in NJ, take the train into NYC, or take the train from somewhere else. That is what we have done for years. I have not been in a while though...so it's probably worse now LOL.

It is, and congestion pricing kicks in June 30th, I think. So it's an extra $15 just to drive into midtown.
I lived in NJ and worked in the city most of my life, using public transportation, so rarely would I ever consider driving in. It's more trouble than it's worth. Just take a train and let somebody else worry about getting you there.
If you want to pay 50%-100% more, for the best bang for the buck my recommendation would be Hotel New Yorker (note that the same room for 2 costs anywhere between $150 and $700 depending on the date - and these two prices, in the next few days, are just 3 days apart!):

This is the only sensible advice re driving to NYC. I lived in Pennsylvania for 5 years in the late 1980s/early 1990s - I used to drive & park at Newark airport, then take public transportation into Manhattan.
It's a pity you can't stay longer, especially if you're a movie fan.
