The Mexican count in NYC is seriously undercounted. EVERYWHERE I go in the city, I see Mexicans. I wouldn't be suprised if they were already the #1 hispanic group...and if not, it's only a matter of time.
Very true, and that's a fact few people are aware of. Still, when Finland is mentioned, most people will associate it with Scandinavia, simply because of its location.
Yes, the reason why Finland does not belong to Scandinavia is because of their language - it's not Germanic or closely related as it is to Swedish, Norwegian and Danish.

Correct. IIRC, the Finnish and Hungarian languages are closely related. Don't ask me how.
woodlawn and the area around mclean avenue Yonkers is as Irish as it can get. Its crazy how you can still meet young Irish people who just came to this country over there. Sometimes when you see the kids playing on the side streets it feels like you've gone back in time or something in that manner.

There are already enough of these little whatevers spread around Manhattan. The outer-boroughs could use a few more though. There is a little "Little Saigon," starting to form in the Kingsbridge Heights/Fordham area in the Bronx. It's kinda neat seeing it start to sprout.
Finland does not belong to Scandinavia though.
It's among the nordic countries, but not Scandinavia.
Scandinavia = Sweden, Norway, Denmark.
Scandinavian Peninsula = Sweden and Norway, not Denmark. Denmark is located on their own peninsula south of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Finland is located east of the Scandinavian Peninsula. All four plus Island are called the Nordic Countries. Very often understood as the Scandinavian Countries, too, though.
