There are many events all across Upstate New York State being held during the dates of July 16 thru 22, 2012. Among these separate events are: a huge 7000+ Classic/Antique/Street Rod Car Show, several county & community fairs, a bluegrass music festival, parades before fairs, boats on display, some fireworks, and lots of activities in conjunction with these individual events.

CLASSIC-ANTIQUE-STREET ROD CAR SHOW - 7000+ Cars on Display-HUGE!!

What a huge gathering of all types of cars from the very earliest vintage cars thru to the more modern age cars. This show is not just 50 cars or so, there will be hundreds & hundreds of cars on close-up display; one of the LARGEST car shows in the whole country. There were 7589 cars on display at the 2011 show. The vehicles have been expertly restored and are meticulously maintained in pristine condition. Seldom would you have the opportunity to view close-up so-many fantastic cars all at one venue and talk to their owners who can explain all the details about their cars. If you are someone who appreciates or are a classic car enthusiast, appreciate the styling and other aspects, this should be a MUST-SEE show for you.

Owners from 5 Canadian provinces and 40 U.S. states bring their pride & joy cars here to put them on display for YOUR enjoyment. Be sure to bring your cameras with you to take photos home of some of your favorite cars; you'll probably have many favorite cars just like I always do have. This car show is an annual event held every July at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

The location of this show is at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse NY, along Interstate 690 on the western shoreline of Onondaga Lake. You can reach Interstate 690 via Interstate 90 (NY State Thruway) and via Interstates 81 & 481. Public parking is at lots just outside the Fairgounds=look for the road signs.

You can buy ADVANCE DISCOUNTED tickets at participating "Nice-N-Easy" quick-stop gasoline/food stores. REGULAR PRICE tickets are available at the fairgrounds entry gate. Check at the entry gate for re-entry rules if you want to return to the show after temporiarily leaving the show. This car show is well worth the admission ticket price. You could easily spend a full day or two at this show. Vendor food is for sale on the fairgrounds. Rest rooms are available at several locations.

.....Haven't made it to one of these more current Syracuse shows......very impressive from the pictures you posted. While somewhat on the "edgy" side...I have fond memmories as a participant in the mid 80's Car shows at the fairgrounds.....and at 2am out on Rt 5 with a few thousand other folks.....lol....

I can't get enough of going to see all the types of cars at this show. To be able to potentially see more than 7000+ cars at one location is unbelievable.

On a couple nights, I drive over to 7th North Street off Interstate 81 because a lot of the car owners stay at the several motels there. In the evening many of the cars are parked there. You can park temporarily and walk around to see the cars and talk to the owners who sit by their cars or sit on lawn chairs at the streetside watching other classic cars "parade" back and forth on 7th North Street.

Maybe you'll get to Syracuse again sometime to see some of the cars.
