One of the most beautiful spots in NYS to see incredible sunsets:
Rt 8, heading west from Hague on Lake George towards Brant Lake.
When you get away up the mountain, towards the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness area, the views of the surrounding mountains are gorgeous. If u are heading that way at end of day, the sunsets are breathtaking!

I'm actually surprised that SUNY Oswego and Oswego's Breitbeck Park weren't mentioned on this list.

They mixed up Cold Spring Harbor and the village of Cold Spring.

The picture is of Cold Spring Harbor on the north shore of Long Island overlooking the Sound, but the description is of the Hudson Valley village.

While Cold Spring in the Hudson Valley is very beautiful, doesn't have great sunsets since looking west, the horizon is neck-stretchingly high due to the abrupt, steep mountains.
