Plenty of European commuter trains have first class sections on them, often with more comfortable seats and less crowding, for often 50% higher fares. Even Paris’s subway system used to have first class.

Have New York commuter trains (to Westchester, Connecticut, Long Island and New Jersey, plus other counties around New York City) ever offered first class?

Amtrak and pre-Amtrak long distance trains often have first or business class but those are not commuter trains. By commuter trains, I mean trains that stop at lots of stations and are used by people who commute from home to work on them.

Thanks.
