Looking for a cabin to rent on Lake George. I am also considering camping on a island, but I have a two and a half year old and I am just not sure if that's a great idea at this point (suggestions welcome).
For a cabin, I really want the real deal. I keep looking on the net and I see these cabins that really look like cheap motels.
It can be a cluster of cabins, but I really want to rough it.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Did you ever find a cabin?

We stayed at the 7 dwarf's motor lodge. Wasn't too bad.

I would call the LG CoC as I am sure they could give you a few suggestions. Many of the cabins on the lake, including the ones we rented, did at one time have fridges which had to have ice delivered and kerosene lamps but most have been modernized as that is what most guests want.

Camping on an island is awesome but it's a hassle getting out there. We used to rent big canvas tents which went on wood platforms. There are water taxis to take you there and back. They will haul a canoe or some other small boat as well. It is roughing it but a real swell experience().

I would'nt take a small child on Lake George, the water is very cold and they woildn't survive long
in the ,however unlikely, event of a mishap.
What about the state campgrounds?
