Do you feel that you get misunderstood easily and people are willing to make all kinds of wrong assumptions about you as if you had done something terrible to them?

Just a random question for discussion purpose

Yes. Well, not as much as I used to. I still have a communication problem which is a direct result of not being able to speak as a child. I was afraid to say the wrong thing.

For me personally, I figured out three reasons for this problem that is described in the OP:

1. Poor communication skills
2. Poor social skills
3. Not knowing who to trust

Sometimes I can't even say something nice and normal to a cashier
without getting misunderstood...geeze...I know it's not me.
People are coming from all over the place and don't even know how to simply listen.
They make things up in their head...that you mean something you don't.

I'm normal, they are from some nutty place.

Yep! Plus, my ex never listened to me, so I cut every conversation very short to not bore him too quickly. Therefore, I leave important information out and get misunderstood too often. So now I am stuck with bad conversation skills.

Same with texting/emailing/city-data - I often assume people think the same way or fill in the blanks but they often don't.
