The only thing that is "absolutely ridiculous" here is the post itself. Telling your parents you're having surgery is basically the only thing that wouldn't be absolutely ridiculous. What in the world are you so afraid of?

I'm not saying this is a repeat thread because the "facts" are different, but it's a very similar scenario.

then how will you explain the First Surgery

oh I forgot to mention it?

I think you're way underestimating the recovery time and the help you'll need afterward - we're talking MONTHS not weeks
I had repairs to my knee including meniscus repaired, a bone chip removed, and the end of my femur drilled into so it would exude a sort of faux cartilage. The surgery was extremely successful and the knee is pretty good 13 years later. I was riding a bike in less than a week, actually before I was allowed to walk!

Pehaps not all are so fortunate!

Although he may never come back, I thought I'd interject a possibility.

Firehouse around me has Junior Firefighters that can start at 16 and do stuff like clean the trucks etc. Also, 18 year olds can be firefighters and they can still be in high school at that age... so the "grow up and move out" thing may not apply.

The only reason - taking the above into consideration - that I can think the OP doesn't want to tell is that his parents will make him stop working there if they know he got injured in the firehouse... let alone fighting a fire in the future.

I don't think a minor can consent to surgery without parental consent.
