First time I've ever heard that. People post all kinds of things about dogs there, and they are not limited to posting only about their own dogs. I still say this belongs in the other forum.

I posted a thread about a truly sweet pit bull that I met at a service station and it was closed.

My basset hound ate $120 bucks once, but we rescued enough of the bills to take them to the bank for replacement. Banks replace bills that have been rescued from fires, nibbled by mice and rats and insects (some people like to hide money), and such all the time.
If the bank is hesitant you may have to send them somewhere, but your bank should be able to direct you to the proper agency. There needs to be a certain amount of the individual bills left for them to be replaced.
Unless it was coins, which you can follow them around, dig out of their poop and clean up, if they are suspected of completely digesting bills, there isn't much you can do but learn from your negligence of both your money and the animal.
A guy pieced back the money from the dog's dung?! WTH?!
I actually did this, washin down my dogs poop with a water hose was able salvage a 100 and a twenty a few weeks after, lol. My wife had left the money for me on my desk, lol.
we now put in a jar, and I leave my wallet on the fireplace mantel.
One person had five crisp $100 bills eaten by their over-mischievous dog. The "victim" pieced together some of the missing currency from the dog's stool . The Mutilated Currency Division of the U.S. government replaced the money. The writer lost a smaller amount of money but the local bank was willing to replace the partially chewed $5 bill with a crisp replacement.
How would others handle the canine thievery? How would it affect your relationship with man's best friend?
Dogs have never been my best friend. Destruction is just one of the many reasons that I don't ever plan on having one.
