Next time he's standing a foot from the front bumper of my vehicle I'll consider keeping it moving! He probably won't like it, though.
Can we curse here? Who gives a **** what he likes?
Keep it moving, screw him and his 'approval'. As anti social as I think I am, even I will respond to a smile and a 'hello', and I wouldn't be so arrogant as to glare at neighbors waiting patiently to get onto the street. He sounds like a complete ass. Treat him like one, and don't feel remotely bad about it.
The one weird guy in the neighborhood - who usually just keep to himself - has a couple of times lately marched up to people in his t-shirt and shorts to complain about something. Since then I cannot shake the image of Beulah Ballbreaker in "Porky's", marching across the gym to tell the boy's coach to 'get their balls off her court'. I've already started referring to him as Beulah when I talk to my husband him.

You tried already, and that's enough.
I was making a joke. Keep it moving... as he he's standing in front of the bumper of my car. He's not gonna like it. Bad joke, I realize. But, Bob, you are absolutely right. If I had done something to deserve his rudeness I would totally own it. But I haven't, so I have to assume the neighbors aren't happy people and it has nothing to do with me.
Two of my neighbors are just friendly hellos and waves and occasional small talk which is what most normal people do. One neighbor however has a problem with everything we do. I think he either hates me or has mental problems so i go through great lengths to avoid him and his family. Another neighbor is friendly one day, antisocial another day so it's just easier to avoid him too.
