*Whew* It's a good thing my real name isn't Ruth. And yeah, Linda isn't bad at all. Life could be so much worse. When she said she was named after her grandmother, I was bracing myself for something like "Mabel" or "Lucinda", or "Brunhilda".

My father in law's fiancé has NO filter whatsoever. She blames it on some brain condition but I find it hard to believe she has no idea what she is saying is rude. It's annoying and insulting. For example...when I last saw her she asked me if I was having twins. I was only around 14 weeks pregnant and it made me feel self conscious that my pregnant belly was too big. I made a comment that I was bloated after dinner, but she just kept saying "OMG you're huge! Are you SURE you're not having twins?" She also kept saying our ultrasound pic wasn't as 'nice' as her son's...whatever the heck that means. Really? No clue what you're saying is wrong?

Trust me. Keep it to yourself unless you're asked for it.
Regarding FIL's fiancee
She needs a zen slap

Or Harris.

I laugh, I remember a Friends episode. Ross wanted to name their daughter Ruth, and Rachel asked him if they were having an 89-year-old.

I always thought the name Linda was pretty. Besides, in Spanish it literally means "pretty" or "beautiful."

It's such a relief that using Biblical names is no longer a thing. Thank heaven most people have moved on. "Rachel" was another one that grated on me. Strange that it was kinda popular on "Friends". Ugh.
