Just practicing being "tactful" and "nice" - even though some things may be true, you're not supposed to mention them. We should all be thankful the technology hasn't gone as far as reading minds (or at least making it available to the public - who knows what the military CAN...). We'd be living in a hellish world for a little while. Then it would probably end since nobody would procreate after reading their SO's thoughts...
