We have just about decided on NC.Our realtor has been sending us listings and I like homes that are in the Hudson and Granite falls area. What does everyone think of this area? We have only been up there once in March.Shopping how close? Boarding for our dogs any???? My husband had Lung cancer in 2005 is how far away is Duke. we also have an alternate plan just coming back every three months to FL for his scans and that will not be a problem since he will have to come to FL every two weeks for his Job but it would be nice having a closer place for him to go for his check ups. Also Homeowners ins how much? We were not renewed by Allstate after so many years because of the hurricanes and we found a co but we will be paying $2200 a year. Any help would be appreciated.

Hickory, Granite Falls, Hudson, Grace Chapel area has been discussed a lot recently. I suggest you perform a search. You'll see many of my rants about the wonderful local weather.
