Your ridiculous rants got this thread off course, please stay on topic for the benefit of the OP.

You're hilarious. Why are my points so wrong, when it comes from your same gov'ts and mayors, etc. I doubt you're they're spokesperson. You're just assuming.

The topic was about a deluge of people coming to NC. My point was the fact it's over exaggerated when North Carlina is still primarily rural. You made a comment as to counter that fact.

The problems we face with growth has nothing to do with the people who come here. IT'S POOR PLANNING!

Well, if you are using your "NC is rural so growth is not a problem" assertion as your stance, then that ridiculous idea of yours can stand on it's own.

Seriously, what is wrong with you? Do you think that a high growth rate and a state with large rural areas are mutually exclusive?

I can't even believe you people.

Well, I tried to get the thread back on track for the OP but I guess the inmates have chosen how they want to run the asylum.

It's pretty freaking hilarious that you would point that garbage post at me, when metro.m has yet to produce any links either.

Mental midgets.
Ok, now that's just being childish. I have actually been thinking of moving to NC and so have been lurking on the NC boards. How am I trolling?

I didn't say I disagreed with you. But, to an impartial observer, someone saying "just ask the government or so and so" isn't helping their cause. Yes, metro.m has yet to produce any links, but his data can be easily found with a quick search on the internet. And YOU were the one refuting his claim with no data.

I am not criticizing you, just saying it would be helpful to see some actual stuff to see if claims on both sides are true or not instead of just a shouting match between two or three individuals. Shouting matches never get anywhere.

I would say you 'fueled the fire' here. I have three recommendations:
1- This thread gets closed
2- NCisgreat gets a 'vacation' from the forum
3-Moderators need to monitor these forums more closely. In other forums, NCisgreat would probably be banned for all his personal attacks. NC, have a glass of wine with your clients to take the edge off

Links?
USA Urbanized Areas: 2000 Ranked by Population(465 Areas)

Demographia: USA Urban Areas (Urbanized Areas and Urban Clusters) Index

Jacksonville, Florida - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list goes on it's easy to find the info I'm providing yourself. Raleigh and Charlotte have some of the least dense metro areas over 1 million. There's no disputing that! The trouble we have with growth, is because we've designed our infrastructures around the automobile!

It should be closed since you brainiacs can't stay on topic.

Links, links, everywhere links....links that show we have an influx of people. Thanks metro. Your assertions are still wrong. Post links all day and all night, but your interpretation of the information there is still wrong.

We are on topic. We're talking about population in NC right? Stop dodging the debate at hand.

UM, NO. Here's the OP again for those who attended Zoolander's School for Kids Who Don't Read Good:

Just want to get some opinions. There have been a good deal of people moving here for a while now. With the housing markets in many cities getting ready to die a painful death, do you guys think even MORE people will be moving here to North Carolina??? NC has gotten a lot of press as a great place to live. Add in people's getting burned in a housing bubble that will pop over the next 18 months. Won't there be an accelerating number of people moving here from Florida and even California once the credit crunch and housing markets really start to deflate???

The question is about housing's effect on the influx of people, not about what you think about defining an urban area and the counting of people in said areas.

Instead of fueling it more why not report the post. Or ignore it like I should probably be doing. Bringing in old comments from another thread is silly too...

Yes this has gone way off topic each side has there view. To me one has at least tried to keep it close to the OP question.

Thanks and have a great day!!
