Last year, the ACLU filed a federal lawsuit in Greensboro on behalf of six same-sex couples and their children that challenged North Carolina's ban on second parent adoptions. That case was put on hold while the court waited to see what the U.S. Supreme Court would decide in the Prop. 8 and Defense of Marriage Act cases this term.

Today, ACLU is amending their second parent adoption lawsuit to add a claim challenging the constitutionality of our state's ban on marriage equality for LGBT North Carolinians

The can't amend without permission or a court order. Just a technicality but could slow things down but it's good to see this moving in more than one state.

Good, the federal courts are going to eventually kill all of these hateful, unAmerican relics of primitive prejudice.
