Why has NC decided, like few or no other states, that spirits (which I was taught all alcoholic beverages not in the beer or wine categories were called) are forbidden to be sold in supermarkets and most other establishments with beer and wine?
The title is presumptuous that this isunconstitutional or for some reason a right win conspiracy.
North Carolina is one of 18 states that operate ABC stores that most began in states after prohibition was lifted nationally.

How about places like that den of liberalism called Maryland...
where you can't even get beer or wine in grocery stores (let alone spirits)??
I meant to say earlier that it doesn't really make sense that of all the Southern states, NC seems to have the strictest liquor laws of all... ABC stores closed Sundays and all that #$%&, which would seem unconstitutional because isn't that making an establishment of religion? Despite being one of the richer and more cosmopolitan Southern states, NC seems to let superstition rule its alcohol policy, but the none of the "backwards" Southern states such as Louisiana do.

You might want to do some research and you will see that there is plenty of states and other parts of the USA that are just as restrictive.
States like New Hampshire, Oregon, and Idaho have similar laws. Some states to buy beer must be from a state run store.
Arizona you cant buy on Sunday, also there other states that are no where near the south that has this law.
Heck in Indiana you cant buy liqueur, beer or wine on Sunday.
Pennsylvania and Utah, all type of alcohol must be purchased from state run stores.
So your attempt to trash the south is lame.

Most of your posts are centered around Philadelphia. You can't be from there or you'd know that the state store system there makes NC look very liberal with liquor, beer & wine. Where are you from?
I remember the first time I walked into a convenience store in Missouri(? Maybe Kentucky?) and there was hard liquor on sale next to the porn and cigarettes. Which were all right be the cash register... classy place there, lol.
You can buy beer/wine inside the city limits of Greenville on Sunday, but not in Greenville County. Don't know about the rest of SC.
