Deflection: The problem now is the tax system ....
Deflection LOL. The topic is about NC dead last teacher rankings and you won't talk about that now that it's discovered that it was caused by Kay Hagan, Beverly Perdue and Mike Easley. Got anything to say about that? It is the topic you know.
Deflection: The problem now is the tax system Mr. Tillis has put into play. It does not bring in enough revenue and he has decided to double down on the problem by allowing another tax decrease to Corps. only in January 2015(you and I will be paying a higher percentage). The small Govt Conservatives have also put a cap on the amount of sales tax a county can charge thereby forcing the need to raise real estate taxes.
Exactly! But I am sure that WaldoKitty will find some way to rationalize this too, the same way the commercials like to twist the way Mr. Tillis claims he supports education. No mention of taking away recognition of a Master's degree or cutting the requirement for a TA's in classes. How about using tenure against veteran teachers as leverage for a raise. Nothing says I support teachers like that move!

There is nothing to rationalize. Teacher pay didn't go up at all until Tillis & McCrory took over the government. The facts speak for themselves. Only the most deluded of partisans would try to make that into a negative.

Pah.
You know good and well Perdue tried over and over to raise teacher pay, only to be stifled by the GOP GA. They are relying on partisans LIKE YOU to validate their strategy. It may work for the casual observer, but those of us actually paying attention know how disingenuous your assertions are.
Waldo, seriously, if you're trying to suggest that teachers, and education in general, are better off under the Tillis legislature, it shows how out of touch with reality you really are.

Pah back at you. When Perdue took office, the Democrats ran the GA. And those rankings include the Easley years when Kay Hagan was writing the budget. If they were in the other party you would like white on rice in your zeal to jump all over them.
Of course if the GOP didn't want teacher pay when Perdue was in control, they certainly wouldn't want it now. Yet under them, the teachers got a raise. The partisan nonsense logic is amazing.
The OP's condemnation of NC falls squarely on the heads of the Democratic party which did nothing for teachers for 10 years.
are you surprised? it must be the lack of tax money, or the yankees moving from the northeast cities...yet, we bring tax revenue with us and also pay some of the highest taxes in the southeast region. Cant wait to take 77 north out of here in march.

Meanwhile NC is the 5th fastest in job growth in the USA. Data and facts trumps rhetoric as it did to the OP here.
Yep, those burgers ain't gonna flip themselves, people!
