I took a chance and drove the 205 miles to Elizabeth City, NC.
I have been wanting to photograph the Chesapeake and Albemarle
power for a long time. I got lucky, they were sitting in the yard.

Old 2158 has gone downhill in the past 8 years or so. In past pictures you could read the Chesapeake, now its due for some paint.

Funny you said that. This is what one of my FB contacts said about it...

"Got it just in time! 2158 has been retired from service."

I'll take lucky over good any day!

I've always said it's better to be lucky than good! I was videoing
Amtrak P092 (late as usual) yesterday morning. I didn't realize it
was lightning at the time because I was looking behind me while filming.
When I replayed the video on my phone I was happy to see this so I
pulled it off the video.

way to go out in style. A funeral possession in
Sanford, NC.

Bet if the focus person of that funeral had his/her way, the guy wearing bluejeans would have been vanquished until he got with the program and wore black pants!
