Hey would like to get some info on where the best location to find employment. I am a self employeed contractor for 15 years ( commercial/residental), class B CDL, and can operate heavy equipment. Are they looking for equipment operators? I would love to find a job on an oil rig not sure if I meet there qualifications. What do the oil companys look for with someone with no oil experience? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.....................mike

Mike, my husband and I won't be far behind you. We are from Bonita Springs heading that way. Just want to say Good Luck to you, maybe one day we will say hello in person.

I know how you are feeling we have been considering this move for a year. My husband traded his Harley for a small camper and this weekend we had a big yardsale for gas money. We are going to rent our home. Our goal is to be there at least 2 years but if we really like it we may make it our new home and keep our house for retirement. My husband's favorite saying we are looking for a hand up not a hand out. We both have applied at many, many places the 1st three I applied at answered me back but the feeling that I got from the employers was call us when you get here and have a place to live. I think we would like to find something in Minot or Stanley. But our options are open and we just want to have good jobs. We are leaving at the end of the month. Very excited and anxious all at the same time....an exhausted as well. I will keep you posted as to what we find. There are also alot of amazing people on here that will give you information as well. They have been very helpful to us.
