It's a shame someone felt the need to kill it.

Fantastic trophy especially with a bow.

Pa Black bear population is thriving and healthy thanks to the management of the PGC supported entirely by license and excise tax revenue derived from hunters and trappers of all types.

I noticed a few PETA-philes whining at the bottom of the Pocono Record article. I wonder how much they contribute to the management of the wildlife in Pa.

Eat it, give some to friends & family, donate some to a soup kitchen.

Most likely he will keep the skull and hide and get it taxidermied.

If it holds up as a world record, and he is so inclined, places like Cabela's would be willing to offer him mucho bucks for the hide & skull to use as a display in one of their stores..

Thank hunter must be very proud - he should be.

I always laugh a these guys who hunt and claim their trophy as though they performed some great feat....

Unless they are hunting out of sheer necessity for food, bear pelts etc. they just some across as heartless....How anyone can kill an animal for sport is beyond me. You can tell a lot of a person on how they treat animals.

If these guys are such expert sportsmen, why not take a cue from the book 'The Most Dangerous Game". Id respect them a little more then..

This bear was LEGALLY HARVESTED in the woods, not next to a restaurant dumpster.

It is pretty sad that people ILLEGALLY feed Pa Black Bear who then have a tendency to become nuisance bears.

The Standard Operating Procedure for the PGC is to trap, tag, and relocate a nuisance black bear twice.

The third time it is captured it is PUT DOWN.

So much for a dignified finale for a once wild creature - being euthanized as a garbage scavenger and public nuisance...

You animal lovers should think twice before you attack the hunting community that fully supports the management of wildlife with money and actions -vs- words...

Talk is cheap.
