Moderator note to the confused: According to the terms of service for this site, Solicitations are not allowed and that includes a first post that recommends a place. I therefore combined two threads, both about Chinese restaurants. I realize they may not play well together, but think the information should be helpful. My apologies to the starters of both threads.

From Sheena:

Husband in Hospital ANY CHINESE RESTAURANTS open on Christmas Day?
Unpleasant last minute surprise. DH in Hospital and I was not able to shop for food.

In some places, Chinese Restaurant's open on Christmas Day? This is an old reliable last minute option in many areas of the country. (Think " A Christmas Story")

We are stuck. Scranton and the Poconos are not to far.
See mod post for explanation.

My wife and I had dinner at Peking Chef in Dallas, PA. We had TSO's Chicken, Chicken and Brocolli, veg. rice & egg roll. It was so good & fresh, no msg, no trans fat. Have to say that the staff was very professional and courteous and made us feel like our satisfaction with everything was most important. I highly recommend the Peking Chef in Dallas, PA for everyone!!! Try it and you will know what I'm talking about. BTW, did not know what Chinese food was til I had this!!!!

nicole, I agree General Tso Chicken is a very tasty dish and our family loves it as well. however, to be fair... General Tso Chicken is really an Americanized dish and it cannot represent as the "real Chinese food".

I am still looking for good Cashew Chicken. Is that an Americanized dish? I used to love the Cashew Chicken at a Golden Wok in Carlisle PA. I just haven’t found the anyplace as good here by my home.

Peking Chef is rated as one of the best Chinese food restaurants in the country, if I'm not mistaken.

Rated on what list and by whom? I think you can go to any major city's Chinatown and find numerous places better than Peking Chef.

Why would you say that? Are the Chinese people making the food at Peking Chef any less Chinese than someone in Chinatown??

I kinda enjoy Tepanyaki in Dickson City. Is that place in Dallas in the same strip mall as Wild Birds Unlimited?
