Another negative......this stuff never ends.....who would want to raise a family in an area where the federal government has been investigating ongoing corruption for nearly 6 years.

U.S. Attorney plans corruption-related announcement - Wilkes-Barre, news, sports, obituaries, and classifieds for Luzerne County and Scranton | The Times Leader, Wilkes-Barre, Scranton PA - www.timesleader.com

may i add cleanliness to my wonderment bout this area's environment-----had 2 dr.'s appointments this week and was appalled by the dirty office, equipment, appearances of the staff and the loud calling across to one another with non client related conversation while clients were in the waiting room--have only encountered this one time when i had an emergency dental visit in a rural area---sad part was one of these 2 experiences was in a geisinger run facility---supposedly the epitome of health care for nepa---eeeek!

Along this same line, several months ago a co-workers car broke and I agreed to help her out, and drive her to some appointments.

One day I was waiting for her and her kid to get out of the dentists office. I couldn't tell if I was at a biker bar or a dentist. People cursing, being rude, and a pregnant mom going outside to smoke. the best part, it was a pediatric dentist and the waiting room was filled with kids.

Yes, sadly all medical facilities in NEPA are dirty and full of filthy, foul mouthed patients and workers. Even the professionals are like this. It is amazing. No one who knows this even goes to them.

The pizza places, beauty salons, and bars are immaculate and full of smiling and brilliant people (especially the newcomers..) though

Well, I guess you can't expect much more. After all, "everybody" in NEPA smokes, "everybody" in NEPA drinks. "everybody" in NEPA eats nothing but Pizza, pierogie, or fast food. "everybody" in NEPA looks askance at higher education. It's a heyna world in NEPA.

Corrupt politics (though, where won't you get that??) not so hot economy. Though we're working on it. Not trying to lie, but the area is definitely getting better. Sometimes you have to work on the look, than jobs. (Though, we need to work on that too)

The level of polictical corruption and nepotism is unlike anywhere I have ever seen with generations working for the city, county, state etc. People are raised just to get that city union job.........

Not sure where your looking, but I don't see the area getting better, if anything it's getting worse.

No matter how you try to improve the look it is still putting lipstick on a pig and calling it a beauty queen.

It can look great all day long, in the end jobs are what ia going to improve the area and that is just pure fantasy at this point.

Put a knife in it, Scranton is done for. At least for the next few generations.

You do realize it's because of negative humbugs like you (that, may I add complain about the area, and yet still stay.. what, how does that even make sense??) that get people down. Complaining doesn't solve anything.
