Hi my name is Leann
I spent about 7 years of my childhood at 8 lake drive in Marcel lake estates. I am now getting married and my husband and I are looking to buy if not the same property a property in the community. I have fond memories of fishing, canoeing and sledding down the driveway on the snow out on to the frozen lake. I would love to give those experiences to my children. My father put so much work into that house, a full bath upstairs, a shed, screened in porch and sky lights. Please email me if anyone knows how to get in touch with the owners I'd love to make an offer or just talk to them about the house, it was a huge part of my life that shaped my life. To anyone looking to buy in the community with children I'd highly recommend it they will have the time of their lives.

Leann - the house numbering system has changed. If my guess is right, you place was on Lake Drive, between Marcel and Yvonne, backing up to Marcel Lake. That's the odd numbered side now, and there may have been some homes built around there since you last saw it. Not much of the community's infrastructure has changed. If you're curious, stop at the office. I'm sure they'd love to give you the tour.
Season's Greetings

Default House Sale

I think the sewerage situation will get done at no expense of the property owner.

We have a big house in Marcel Lake on 3/4 of an acre 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living room, dining area, kitchen, utility room, wood floors garage and huge driveway, and a dry full basement as we are uphill, screen in porch, handicap ramp in rear of house. Selling for 269,000.00 we have relocated due to job transfer. House is like new, with many extras.
1 master bedroom down stairs, 1 master bedroom upstairs, 2 misc bedrooms.

I bought a home in Marcel last year. I looked at many homes in Dingmans Ferry, in different communities. I chose Marcel Lake Estates over the others due to it having a central sewer instead of a septic elsewhere. Septics are nightmares when there's a problem, and it's not "if", it's when you have a septic problem. Currently the fee for the sewers is $68 a month (2/3/13). There is talk that the sewer company will be taken over by the water company and will be upgraded & meter billed. Marcel is a smaller community, less people, and still nice. The pool is great and well cared for, same for the rest of the amenities. The roads are good, I haven't seen any better anywhere else. The dues are some of the cheapest at around $850. Security has been great, I spent many weekends fixing up my house before the move in, I left all my tools & materials there for four months and never had anything bothered. My neighbors have been great, met plenty of people at the pool...I'm happy here.

Only a small portion of homes require a grinder pump for the sewer now. There is talk that if the water company takes over the sewer system, they will make it all grinder pumps. The company would pay for and install a grinder pump in your basement or crawlspace at their expense. You will be responsible for it from then on. It's no big deal once they pay for it. I'ts a smaller community, kept nice, good people here. We're very happy with the pool, the lakes, etc.. We're very happy here.
