I have heard that but i haven't really smelled them. I've managed to get a "cup" around af ew of them and then take them outside.. perhaps that isn't threatening them enough. My husband has killed a few but didn't say anythign about the smell.

I just can't STAND the sound they make when they fly or fall or something.. theyu are just so flipping gross..eww.. LOL.

They try to come into houses and buildings when the weather gets cold, so this time of year, they are probably coming out of hiding and trying to get back outside.

They hit Bucks County about 2 years ago. I have found 4 or 5 in my house last Fall (when they come in to find hiding places) and so far 3 this Spring. I just put them in a cup like the other poster said, and take them outside. If you smash them, you'll run the risk of getting the "stink."

Also, cats find them REALLY EXCITING to play with. Unfortunately, this causes them to spray their "stink." Learned that the hard way. So if you have cats, keep an eye on them when they get that "bug hunter" gleam in their eye, and chase them away from the bug and take it outside.

Here's a Penn State Link with good info on them:
Brown Marmorated Stink Bug — Entomology — Penn State University

My old office building got infested with them last year. They exterminated, but then all their dead carcasses could be seen inside the ceiling lights. We moved to a new building 2 miles away, and we've only gotten a few so far. This is in NJ, just over the river from PA. So now they seem to be coast-to-coast.

Oh yep, they smell.........I so hate it, it makes me sneeze.
In fact I stepped on a dead one...and that smelled. I had to then wash the bottom of the shoe.
Hubby, tries to get them out without getting them upset.
When I first came upon them though.........and didn't know what they were........I learned the hard way. I was like " Whats that smell?"..........And..........They are ugly, and their legs hang down like a wasp........ugh!!

I have only seen them here in Bucks County for the past two springs and summers. I don't remember them before (and we've been here since 2002).

I was hoping I'd be rid of them when we move to Moscow in a few weeks. Sadly this doesn't look like it will happen.

I hate them. They do stink when you crush them. And crush them I do - as soon as I get a napkin, paper towel or my shoe on top of them.....

Phew, just found out what we thought were stink bug larvae turned out to be ladybug larvae.. (The trees have tons of aphids, so good thing they're ladybugs.)

Still haven't seen stink bugs in the house this season, but I'm sure we'll get some yet..
